Not sure about everyone else but we sure have been enjoying the slightly cooler weather. Don’t get us wrong, we love the sun and getting out exploring but when it’s too hot it can be a little draining if you’re on a long walk. So we’ve been making the most of the past week or so and enjoying some cracking walks and what have we been wearing? Our trousers of course, aptly named ‘You wear the Trousers’ and whilst we know we are blowing our own trumpets we love them! Our women's walking trousers are made from a super soft material. Their high-rise fit is designed for long days walking whilst ensuring maximum comfort. They are ideal for outdoor walking, working outdoors, dog walking trousers and more (in fact you tell us we’d love to hear what you wear yours for!)
We’ve covered all the bases too, they are water repellent with large easy access front pockets for storing your phone and other essentials. The fabric stretches for comfort and is 90% Nylon and 10% Lycra for durability and they are machine washable. We are big fans of the roll-up leg too, so good when you fancy a paddle as you’ve guessed it, we’ve worn ours on the beach!
Trousers aside though, you need a good top to go with it and we have a few you can choose from including the Wild at Heart T-Shirt which is proving popular this Summer!
A great walk needs a good picnic though and we love this picnic rucksack from vonhaus. A zipped compartment holds all the picnic essentials – including a netted bag to keep the melamine plates and cutting board secure in transit, a fabric cutlery wrap, and elasticated placeholders for the glasses, shakers & bottle opener. The two side holders are the perfect size for a standard bottle of wine. Equally, you can use them for juices, fizzy drinks or water.
As to what you take, that’s up to you but you might find this recent article in You Magazine useful. It highlights the best pre-made picnic platters including freshly-made summer salads, tartines, mini brioches, bread; dips and sweet treats.
If you don’t fancy carrying the rucksack you can always opt for a walk that ends with a beer, check out - 10 of England's Best Pub Walks According to the British Beer and Pub Association, more than 2 billion pints have gone undrunk in the past year and an estimated 2,000 pubs have closed permanently. So this is the perfect time to go and support the pub, particularly if you can combine it with a decent walk.
There are rumours of a heatwave for August but so far we haven’t seen it, if it comes be ready, remember plenty of water when you’re out walking, a good hat and some sun cream! You might not need the trousers this week but cooler days are coming and they sell out quick so best get that order in!
